The Harry Sweere Undergraduate Scholarship: Kimberly Aubert, Undergraduate student, UW Engineering Technology Program
I am in my senior year at the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Centered Design & Engineering. I am part of the Emerging Leaders in Engineering program, where I spend time developing my leadership and professional skills through the Husky Leadership Certificate. In addition to this, I am the current chapter President of Kappa Delta Sorority on campus. This involves overseeing a chapter of 130 women and managing the performance of our chapter in accordance to the National organization. I am passionate about people and hope to being a career in health technologies post graduation. My major focuses on designing with the user in mind and I believe the health technology industry needs more designers trained to focus on both the medical providers and the patients, rather than just on the tools. I am so grateful to receive this award and for all the resources HIMSS has provided to me so far. Thank you!
